Basic Sciences - Flexor Pulleys: Fingers
Description
This section of a Basic Sciences lecture discusses the flexor pulleys of the fingers. The speaker introduces the topic by outlining the structure of these pulleys, specifying that there are five annular pulleys and three cruciate pulleys. The speaker explains that the odd-numbered annular pulleys are positioned over the metacarpophalangeal joints (MCPJ), proximal interphalangeal joints (PIJA), and distal interphalangeal joints (IPJ), while the even-numbered ones are situated over the proximal and middle phalanges. Additionally, it is noted that the three cruciate pulleys are located between the A2 and A5 annular pulleys.
