ACJ Excision

Description

This video explains the procedure for arthroscopic distal clavicle excision. It begins with a view of the damaged end of the clavicle through an arthroscope and subacromial bursa. The optimum position for the anterior portal is determined using a spinal needle parallel to the shoulder joint. A soft tissue shaver is then employed to remove cartilage from the clavicle's end. Following this, a small burr is introduced to remove about 5 millimeters of the clavicle. The resection is executed in a systematic manner, moving from the front to the back and from the bottom to the top of the clavicle. Finally, a thorough inspection confirms that the clavicle has been fully resected, revealing the superior capsule.
