Bucket Handle Tear
Description
In this instructional video, orthopedic surgeon Sharath K Ramanath presents a detailed demonstration of a medial meniscus bucket handle tear repair during an ACL reconstruction. Throughout the 6-minute video, he highlights the steps involved in diagnosing and treating a meniscus tear, which occurred one and a half years post-ACL surgery. The demonstration includes visual confirmations of the previously reconstructed ACL's integrity and strength, the presence of the bucket handle tear, and the use of specialized tools such as inside-out needles and a fiber stitch device.
The surgeon illustrates techniques such as placing traction stitches, utilizing adjustable cannulas, and executing precise sutures to repair both the medial meniscus and additional tears located in the red-red zone. Multiple stitches are placed to secure the meniscus back to its anatomical position, ensuring stability and proper healing. The video concludes with Sharath summarizing the completed repairs and thanking viewers for watching.
