Giant Cell Tumours
Description
Mr Shiraz Sabah gives his expert insights into giant cell tumor of bone (GCT) which is characterized as a locally aggressive yet typically benign primary bone tumor. It predominantly affects adults aged 20 to 40 who have attained skeletal maturity. The tumor is commonly located in the epiphyses of long bones, particularly near the knee region, with the distal femur and proximal tibia being the most frequently involved sites. Radiologically, GCT presents as an eccentric lytic lesion that extends into the subchondral bone, displaying non-sclerotic margins.
