NHSE Outcome Registries

Description

In this engaging presentation, Professor Xavier Griffin addresses an audience composed of health care professionals, outlining the significant developments regarding NHS England's Outcomes Registries Platform (ORP). He emphasizes that this initiative is a genuine response to previous reports, like the Cumberlege and Paterson reports, which called for better tracking of implantable medical devices and comprehensive data management.

Xavier highlights the urgency of the situation, urging hospitals to prepare for mandatory data collection on all implantable devices by March 2025. He recognizes the critical role of orthopedic practices, which represent a substantial portion of the implants and emphasizes that participation in this registry is not only essential but also achievable.

Throughout his talk, Xavier reassures the audience that the platform is already operational, with thousands of patients registered and ongoing data contributions from various hospitals. He outlines how easy it is to use the system, demonstrating the data entry process and the incorporation of patient records efficiently.

Moreover, he encourages attendees to engage with their peers, share the information learned, and take proactive steps in their own institutions to ensure successful implementation of the ORPP. Finally, Xavier invites everyone to visit stand 58 for a firsthand demonstration and to gather further details about the program.
