Negative Pressure Therapy

Description

This segment details the process of wound treatment, specifically focusing on debridement—removing damaged tissue to aid healing. Five tissue samples are collected during this phase. The primary goal is to achieve definitive closure of the soft tissue, either through direct closure or by using flap coverage. If immediate closure isn't feasible, particularly in cases where wounds are contaminated or inflamed, a Vacuum-Assisted Closure (VAC) device can be temporarily implemented. The VAC serves as a protective covering, facilitating healing until conditions allow for proper reconstruction of the affected area.
