REDUCE – A Toolkit for Hip Fracture Care

Description

Xavier Griffin introduces the REDUCE study aimed at improving care in Whitechapel, highlighting its significance in developing tools for quality care alongside the BOA peer review process. Run by Professor Celia Gregson's team in Bristol, the study collects data from various sources, including the National Hip Fracture Database and NHS Digital, focusing on patient experiences and hospital services. The research follows a three-step pathway: linking statistical data, qualitative interviews with healthcare providers, and ultimately generating actionable recommendations for hospitals. With the first two steps nearing completion, the study aims to create an implementation toolkit based on rich data sources to enhance clinical practices. The toolkit will be available on the Royal Osteoporosis Society website, encouraging widespread adoption within the orthopedic community.
