Surgical Techniques in Hip Surgery: Introduction

Description

The British Hip Society held its revalidation session at BOA 2020, hosted by Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon Vikas Khanduja, who served as Vice President of the Society. This session marks a historical moment as it includes a first-ever instructional course presented at the Society's annual meeting in Newport, with selected recordings of well-received sessions now available for replay. The revalidation session consists of two major parts: the first session delves into various surgical approaches to the hip joint, including arthroscopic techniques, while the second session provides an in-depth analysis of performing cemented and uncemented dual hip arthroplasty. Key opinion leaders from across the UK have been brought together to share their expertise, promising an enriching experience for participants. Following Vikas, Mr. Andy Hamer introduces the educational content, outlining the forthcoming talks covering the anterior, anterolateral, and posterior approaches to the hip, culminating in a discussion about arthroscopic access led by Professor Richard Field.
