Mr Bob Handley has been a consultant surgeon in the Oxford Trauma Service for over 30 years and is probably the most experienced Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon practising in the UK today.
He is deeply experienced in all elements of orthopaedic trauma, but has a special interest in non-union and co-authored the seminal paper on this subject.
He has held leadership positions in every relevant national body including presidency of the British Orthopaedic Association, the Orthopaedic Trauma Society and AO UK. He has helped train and mentor countless surgeons and is regarded internationally as one of the leading experts in Orthopaedic Trauma.
He continues to support and assist Orthopaedic Trauma departments across the UK as the Trauma lead for the 'Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT)' peer review process.
He is frequently involved in writing national policy and guidelines for both the National Institute of Health and Care Excellenc (NICE) and the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA).
