Mr. Kem Ekpo is a doctor and current Specialist Registrar in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in South-East London with an exceptional academic foundation and an illustrious clinical career across some of the UK’s most prominent NHS Trusts. He has trained under world-leading consultants, consistently delivering outstanding patient care and surgical outcomes.
His achievements include the Outstanding Foundation Trainee of the Year (South Thames), Best of the Best Oral Presentation at the British Orthopaedic Association, and Best Presentation at the William Cheselden Meeting. He has also produced a prolific body of research, published in leading peer-reviewed journals, focusing on surgical innovation, predictive modelling, and patient safety.
Beyond clinical excellence, Mr. Ekpo is deeply committed to leadership and mentorship. He serves on the FunOrtho National Teaching Executive Committee, mentors junior doctors, and organises high-impact teaching sessions for registrars. He also examines at King’s College London Medical School, represents colleagues as a BMA LNC representative in London, and applies his expertise in sports medicine as a matchday physician for Gillingham Football Club.
He is currently pursuing an MBA Executive Health at UCL’s Global Business School for Health, with the goal of combining clinical expertise, innovation, and leadership to advance orthopaedic care and improve patient outcomes.
