Miss Baird is a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, with an interest in trauma, and the paediatric hip and foot. Miss Baird trained in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and undertook a Fellowship at the Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, Canada.
She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Edinburgh University, the Undergraduate Education Lead for the hospital, the Chair of the Education Committee of the British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery and is the Head of Education for the South East Scotland orthopaedic trainee programme.
She is passionate about providing excellent care to her patients and support to their families, promoting and widening access to medicine and orthopaedics, and mentoring and supervising undergraduates and trainee surgeons.
