Orthopaedic trauma surgeon, mother of four, chief dog walker and more latterly published author of a children’s fantasy story under my pen name Florie Parker. Just about time to train for my next marathon 🤪
Appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Leighton Hospital in 2007, I later moved to Aintree Hospital, following my passion for orthopaedic trauma. As the trauma lead, I helped in the development of the Cheshire & Mersey major trauma network and the trauma centre at Aintree. After 6 years as major trauma CD, I was appointed to the role of Divisional Medical Director for surgery in 2017.
Following our merger to create Liverpool University Hospitals, I didn’t re-apply for the DMD role and enjoyed being back immersed in my clinical practice. More latterly I stepped up to lead as the orthopaedic trauma CD and transitioned back to DMD in January 2022.
I am enjoying leading our teams as we prepare for further service reconfiguration and the development of our new hospitals.
