CORS Paper Session: Top Canadian Research - Founder's Award Candidates Introduction
Description
In this introductory segment of the first virtual Canadian Orthopedic Research Society meeting, program chair Simon Kelly welcomes participants from various comfortable locations, highlighting the inclusion of a diverse audience in the event. He explains the annual Founder's Award, which recognizes the best Canadian research paper presented at the meeting, noting that six authors with the highest-scoring abstracts will present their work. The scoring will be conducted by members of the court's executive, with the winner announced later in the day alongside a lecture from the soul award winner, Andy McNab. Each research presentation is allotted four minutes, followed by a moderated discussion session. Attendees are encouraged to engage using the Q&A feature, and there is a strong emphasis on strict time management for the presenters. The first presenter is introduced as Mariam Taha from the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, who will discuss her paper on the efficacy of a bacteriophage cocktail against MRSA biofilm.
