Ms Mirka Buist

Biography

Ms Mirka L. Buist is a PhD candidate at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) and the University of Groningen, where she works within the 3D Lab Groningen on the development of patient-specific implants and surgical techniques for complex orthopaedic reconstructions. Her research focuses on patient-specific resection and reconstruction for orthopaedic oncology and trauma surgery of the lower extremities. In particular, she investigates 3D-printed implants for joint-sparing oncological reconstruction, patient-specific implants for trauma surgery, and 3D-planned osteotomies through surgical guides and computer-assisted surgery.
